The Giddings Police Department accepts applications all year. If there are no vacant positions, applications submitted are reviewed and saved for one year. When a position becomes vacant, those are the first ones we call. You are encouraged to submit your application now. 


The Giddings Police Department

Salary commensurate with experience ($41K-$50K).


Salary plus City paid Academy training if you meet qualifications

Giddings Police Department offers:
  • Competitive salary
  • 12-hour shifts, 84 hours per pay period
  • Additional TCOLE Certification & Longivity pay
  •  Take-home car (upon completion of Field Training)
  • Tuition reimbursement (1/2 of tuition and books if job-related and approved)
  • All uniforms and equipment provided
  • 100% City-paid health and life insurance for employee (Dental, vision, and dependent coverage available at employee expense)
  • TMRS Retirement 7%, 2-1 matching with updated service credits, vesting in 5 years. 
NOTE: All officers are required to live within 30 minutes or 30 miles of the police station.
